2006 4x4 problems

So I have a 2006 f150 5.4 4x4.

Left for the mountains and the 4x4 worked. never had to use it but before i left i made sure it was working.

Anyway. On the way home thursday night I had a 4 hour drive through a blizzard. Anyway get home and the next day I try to flip 4x4 on as I had to go off the road a bit to load my snowmobile up.

4x4 never turned on. no sound, no light, nothing.

What do you guys think it is?

Im hoping its a relay or a fuse. Will check tomorrow. Its dark now so i'll wait. Hoping its not the transfer case or anything expensive.

Ive got a 2006 xlt f150 4x4, mine did the exact same thing, try tapping the transfer case motor several times "lightly". It should be on the drivers side, its a little black cylinder with a electrical plug going into it. I got stuck in a blizzard to last year, and the four wheel drive would not go on, no light, no noises, luckily my buddy told me about this, and it worked, if it works it means that your gonna need a new transfer case motor eventually. Hope it works for you!

When mine didnt work the shop I took it to cleared codes and its worked ever since.
No idea why it stopped working in the first place.

I dont know if it was the motor or just a stupid code or a loose connection.

I had everything apart and what not at the same time and put it all back together and it works.

And for some reason my abs works now (I hate abs but if im pulling a trailer with the trailer brakes i guess its good to have).

I rarely use 4x4 unless im pulling someone out of a ditch or what not. Oh well, it works perfect now.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Thanks for the replys guys, I will check the motor tapping thing tomorrow. I noticed today when going through a drive through when my wheels are cut all the way the wheel in question makes a loud popping noise almost likes its in 4wd.
