Looking for chrome tube steps...

I have an 07 Screw and I've been looking for a set of chrome tubular step bars.

Now I have done searching, lots of it at places and I've checked out images. The majority of ones I've found all have 2 mounting points either at the ends of the tubes or closer like right under the middle of each side door. It's claimed they can handle 300lbs, luckily neither myself nor anyone in my family come close to that number.

But are there better chrome tube steps? Are the ones throughout the markets all the same? I'm concerned with durability because my wife just had a baby and I don't want the thing to break anywhere while loading the baby in the back seat...I will go into hurt mode

But right now I'm in search mode

I agree. The factory ones hold up very well. I found mine on craigslist. I have been very happy.

I got a set from Truck Champ that are Stainless Steel.

I am a good 250 pounds, and they have not shown any signs of weakness when I stand on them.

The finish is holding up well after 2 seasons of plowing and assorted crap

They were short money too

I am a lot happier with these than the Westin's I had that rusted out after 2 years

I removed the factory tube steps from my truck and it had three mounting points and I have a Screw like you. I can't imagine they would have done away with that center mounting point for the 07's just seems strange to me. I changed them out and the new ones mounted right back into the original 3 mounting points. I would sell you mine but one of them has some damage to it from where someone hit me and never said anything.

I was directed at the factory steps but the dealer out here wanted $600, so I just walked away. I thought about used ones but I feel more comfortable with something that I'll be the first user of. The TruckChamp ones seem good and Neggy your feedback on them helps, along with their cost and the $0 shipping I'll be getting. After I remove my exhaust tips and dump them, tube steps will be my next thing. Thanks guys!

Like I said I am really happy with mine. The fact they were reasonably priced was even better.

I have a set of Dee-Zee's here too, and they were not half as strong as the Truck Champ ones. As soon as I stepped on them they bent down, and they stuck way out from the side of the truck.

The powder coated Westins were pure garbage, 2 seasons, 13K miles, they rotted away, and I wash the truck after every storm too.
