Issue With Drivers Door On My 06 Screw

I'm not sure if this is a body or mechanical question but it's a question none the less. I've got a situation wiht the drivers door of my my 06 screw. The dampening shock (for lack of a better description) has snapped. See pic's below:

So my question is what is this part called and where can I get it? Is this a body shop or a garage fix or can I do with myself? TIA

I think its called a check arm, looks like it just bolts on from the outside. As long as you have a torx bit, you should be good to go.

But where did the lower torx bolt go for the door side bracket? Did that break off and allow the strap to twist? That issue will need to be adressed because it won't be good to only use one bolt on that end of the strap, it'll just happen again.

Yes - looking back it appears that is exactly what has happened. I realize I neat to replace the lost screw with the good news being it looks to have simply fallen out as opposed to shearing off.
