Sometime after Christmas I want to upgrade the in guage cluster in my truck. As of now I have the base model cluser and it only has a speedometer, no tachometer. I am wanting to put a new one in from an XLT or FX4. My question is should there already be a plug to hook up the tachometer or am I going to need to buy other parts?

 

Its a direct swap for an STX/XLT/FX4 cluster. If you don't have the compass/thermometer built in, those won't show up and you'll just have --/---- showing.
The King Ranch/Lariat/Mark LT clusters require more work to get functional.

 

I did this a while ago. It's not a bad job and it looks a million times better!
