Unhappy Head Unit troubleshooting.

So I connected an amp to my factory hu, and i got it working, so in the process of moving it to a more discreet location, I believe the remote wire may have shorted out something because I no longer am able to turn the radio on. That and the amp doesn't turn on either, so it has to be a fuse/breaker/relay right? I checked ALL the mini fuses, all good except one. I found out my fog lamps weren't working lol. It was the only wire I didn't tape because j didn't think it would make a difference. Anyway, the unit has power. The cd player accepts and ejects CDs, and the clock comes on for about a minute or so then disappears. I've tried disconnecting the battery, the remote wire, disconnecting the head unit, and even looked for a fuse inside the unit! I used the light green and yellow as a remote. Only when key is on does it power on. Could also be black/pink I believe. In my model it is the first mentioned color. I have checked EVERY mini fuse. What else could it be?

Update.

I used a voltage tester, and tested the wire that I connected to the amp. It is dead, but it's not burned, and past the fusebox because all the mini fuses are fine. Are there any other fuses or anything?

Have you tested voltage at the teminals of the fuse location for the radio? The fuse may be fine, but that doesn't mean it's getting power through it. It might help you narrow down the search. If there's no power to the fuse, there's no power to the head unit. Also, make sure you checked your in-line power cable fuse to the amp, and the fuses on the amp itself.

The OEM deck in my '05 had a 6V remote turn on. I installed a Clarion deck and it caused the OEM sub to pop when it turned on so I had to install a resistor to drop the voltage down to 6v.

Yes I checked the slots as well. Go figure, the first one I pull out to inspect, was the first one I looked at the first time I checked fuses, and it WAS just the fuse! Look closely. Man I feel like a fool, but better than if I had ordered a new radio and IT not work. Or taking it in to get looked at! Whew! Thanks for the help guys!
