Added tinted tails and LED bulbs

Just finished a little project...

Had my tails "smoked" by Lifted5.4Lariat and also added some v-led tail light bulbs. I am very happy with the end result. The output shots were taken at different distances, but you can clearly see the difference in the two bulbs. I felt like I need the output more for daytime driving.

The bulbs I got were ($59): http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED-B...-p7470633.html

And now for some pictures:

Only issue right now is the hyper flashing of my turn signals. Can someone post a link to the part that I need to fix this? Can I get it at AutoZone or PepBoys? How easy is it to switch it out?

theres quite a few posts that say it's a Tridon EP-27 flasher. any local parts store should carry it, or at least have it there next day. the flasher is located behind the panel directly under your steering wheel. it's a simple plug-n-play type swap. if you have trouble finding it, just turn the hazard lights on and listen/feel for the clicking relay and there ya go...

You can get the flasher you need from V-leds or superbrightleds. I think superbrightleds even has a guide when you click on "see prices" for the flashers. It has one that says "ford trucks" next to it.

Thanks for the help. Will I still be able to use cruise control? I have read that the LED bulbs may cause problems with it.

You will likely lose cruise control because the cruise system thinks that the brakes are being triggered due to the resistance being so low.

Picked up the EP27 flasher at AutoZone. Got the new one installed and my hyper flashing is gone. Also, the cruise control is working as it should. Project complete!

cruise control will only be effected if you swap the 3rd brake light to LED. if you do swap them out and are having cruise control problems you can get a load resistor to fix it which is what i had to do. it's very similar to the ones that correct hyper flashing, only they are a lot smaller. i forget the details on it..

If I buy the entire led 3rd brake light assembly, will I have problems? I've been looking at several on eBay. Anybody know of a good smoked 3rd brake light on eBay? Link would be awesome!

yes, you will. you need one of THESE to fix the cruise control problem. my cargo lights just barely stay on all the time as well, you can't tell unless you look really hard so i haven't ventured into a fix for that yet.

i'm using this style ---> LINK i've never had any problems out of this style.

tried this one ---> LINK half of the leds went out with this one after 8 months

my buddy has this one ---> LINK only some of the cargo lights work now and the ones that two flicker really bad. he's had it about a year now.
