truck wont steer

I am looking for help with my 2007 f150 fx4 it is really hard to steer if it is not moving. it is almost like it doesn't have power steering unless it is moving. the best way to explain it is if you are parked somewhere you have to turn the wheel all the way in one direction before you start to move, you have to use all of your power to turn the wheel. but if you are driving it steers fine.

it is not whinning when you steer like it is out of power steering fluid. and i have checked the power steering fluid and it it fine. I can't think of what it could be. and help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Did you notice any stiffness in the wheel before? a slight binding when turning perhaps?

I know there has been an issue with the U joints in the steering shaft going bad causing a binding, but I can't recall hearing of a complete failure of the power assist

...it certainly sounds like no power steering. The way I grew up.

sounds to me like its stuck in 4 wheel drive... check your IWEs... search on here for more info

EDIT... nevermind, I see that you say its when you sit still... not when you are moving slow.
sounds like a power steering issue. Maybe your pump died?
