Passenger side seat occupance sensor bad!

I've been looking for one forever now. Ford sales them for over $1000.00 for the whole bottom seat. I just want the sensor. My part number is 4L34-14B422-AL. Does anyone have a junk seat laying around or know where to but one from?

Tasca probably sells the sensor, but if not then look around the junkyard for one.

Yeah they only sale the seat with sensors, but they were the cheapest, just over 1000.

Yeah been looking still can't find one. No junk yards around here have one. I may have to broden my search to others cities. And the weird thing is the numbers on it don't even come up on any online searches.

Have you checked the sensor to see if maybe it came unplugged or has corrosion built up on it? It may still be good, just not getting a good connection. Maybe you can call around to a lot of junk yards and if you find one, see if they can mail it to you.

Did you recently swap seat covers or do any sort of modification to the seat? When I replaced all the seat covers in my old 05, I had all sorts of problems with that sensor and ended up having to take the seat apart to get it set right.

you are correct that the sensor is built into the seat cushion and that is is a very expensive part.

Best case scenario is to find a seat in a junk yard or bypass it so the bag assumes there is always someone in the seat so it will fire off.

The heated seat part # is 4L3Z15632A22BA, my software shows the list at 897.22

the non heated seat ( sit down for this ) 5L3Z15632A22A is showing at $1573.97 in Ultramate.
Tasca has it listed at $1,737.67 list $1,146.86 your cost plus shipping

Those numbers are good in the 06 models to the 8/05/05
build dates, after that date the parts are numbered differently, and I do not know if they newer parts will work with the older Airbag module. ASK A PROFESSIONAL.

So you need a seat from a 2004 ( non heritage) or 2005 model, or pre 8/09/05 production date 06

LKQ is showing them USED in the 366 dollar price range, with free shipping to a commercial address

I took the seat out the other day. The plastic holes the hold the sensor on were broken, but the harness was plugged In.

Neggy you wouldn't happen to have that link for lkq do you? I looked awhile back and never found anything.

Blackandproud, that would be great if you have it still. Just let me know what you want for it.

Neggy, thanks for the link. If black doesn't have it I'll check it out.

Stealth, I looked on CL the other day and all I saw was trucks for sale w/ seats. So I'll look again and see if anything changes.
