Need help asap on led 3rd brake light issue

Ok I have had some LED tail lights on the truck for several months now with no ill effects (cruise control worked just fine). Not sure of the brand but they are not hellas or recon or anything fancy like that...got them from a member on here. This morning I installed a anzo LED 3rd brake light and im having some issues. I did a search (after I installed duh) and saw where people were having issues with the cruse control but thats not my only issue. My cruse doesnt work...nor my blinkers...nor my brake lights! When I installed the 3rd and before I screwed it down I taped the brakes to make sure it was wired right and it came on (couldn't see the tail lights at this time). So I screwed everything down and turned the truck around to see them all on in the reflection of a window and I got nothing. The tail lights come on if I turn on the headlights...the blinker bulbs inside the headlights come on too. But when I turn on the blinker there is nothing in the truck (dash light or clicking) or outside...no cruse...and most importantly no brake lights. So did I blow a fuse...did I do more damage...do I just need to put my stock 3rd back on to make it all work? I saw something about a resistor needs to be added?? Where??? what one?? Also to note I have regular bulbs for the reverse lights and the cargo lights on the 3rd brake light...those still work...no other LEDs anywhere on the truck.

Help

I'd say maybe swap the old one back in that worked, and see if the problems go away or persist. This will at least tell you if the problem is directly related to the light or if something else just happened to go wrong coincidentally.

If it definitely is the new 3rd brake light, it seems like it would have popped a fuse if there was a short. But reinstalling the old light will tell you if a fuse blew or not. If no fuse is blown you got a problem someone more electrically inclined will have to help out with! Lol Seems like there is some type of electric current issue since just the LEDs on the truck don't work, but idk just brainstorming.

I will be trying the old one in a bit...I am at work and installed it before I left home so I posted this to see what others have to say in the mean time. The led's work when I turn on the headlights (not the 3rd) they just dont blink or come on with the brakes. And the turn signals up front are not led's but again only work with the headlights on. What is worrying me is the 3rd did in fact work when I tested it before I screwed it all down...I let it hang in the back glass so I could see it and hit the brake 3-4 times. Maybe something happened when I screwed it all down and tucked all the wires up.

Great news...it was a 20a fuse that controls the brake lights and blinkers and the brake controller. I jacked the one for the horn and plugged it in its spot and tried the old regular bulb in place t he the LED...and got nothing...I was like wtf...but it turns out the old bulb broke when I took it out lol. So I left that burnt bulb in and tried everything (except for cruse) and it all worked. So i went to hook up the led 3rd again and noticed that the wires that go into the bulb plug seemed bent and maybe they touched when I installed the first time. So I re bent them out the way more and plugged it all up. So far so good it all works now...still dont know about cruse becasue I haven't driven it but I started it and put it in REV just in case. I think maybe the cruse didnt work becasue the brake lights didn't work and they work together.
