5.4l Engine stumble @ idle

Short story: Engine occasionally stumbles at idle and cruising speeds.. runs like a raped ape at WOT

Long Story: its 40 degrees outside. the tires are cold and about a mile from home and I'm running late for work.. I know I can make some lost time on the lonely twisty backroads before I hit the highway so I was goin pretty hot into a corner, which isnt unusual (70-80ish?) and found my old friend Mr. Oversteer... Mr Oversteer didnt like the fact that my pirelli's were cold nor the fact that I lifted off the accellerator as much as I did... so mr oversteer spun me around pretty good... no damage but I did stall out.. put in ito park key off and then on again and I'm back on my way to work... runs fine... about 20 miles cruising 5 over the 55 mph limit in the slow lane like a sane human being.. I get of the highway and about a mile or two from work I notice the engine occasionally stumbles at idle while sitting at a light... and just slightly stumbles under a normal cruise... I want ou about a half hour latter and started it up and it still stumbled.. but not as bad. I'm gonna give it a few drive cycles before I disconnect the battery and/or reflash.

You need some scan data to figure out what the computer is doing. I think a clue here is that you are good at WOT which means the computer is in open loop, aka not using o2 sensors to determine fuel mixture. Does it also run fine at cold start up? That would also be in open loop.

you know I think your on to something there. I havnt had a chance to datalog yet but thats EXACTLY what its doing. WOT seems fine cold start idle is fine... when it warms up it stumbles at idle and off throttle...

35k on truck and plugs
5k on fuel filter

I had a 1/4 tank of gas from speedway in there.. I topped it off with 93 from shell reflashed it and gave it a few drive cycles and it seems to be running much better

Do you have a scanner? A really cheap way to get live data logging is the Torque app for android and a bluetooth ODB2 dongle from amazon. $5 for the app and $20 for the dongle. Cheap way assuming you have an android phone or tablet.

no tablet or droid, i'm **** poor broke. I could probably data log with the x3 and a laptop. running a few quick errands in stop and go helped alot. I usually only drive the truck once a week to work and back. which is mostly highway miles.
