Question Mud Flap Mounting - need some ideas

I took off the little plastic splashgaurds my truck came with and bought some 18x12" fiber re-inforced rubber flaps. The front ones will mount right up but the rears need brackets. I've seen some Fords with similar flaps and looked at the mounting kit they used. I went to the local phone dealer and asked for the kit and the guy gave me these 2 small plates slightly bent with holes in them. Not what I was looking for.

So how do you have yours mounted? I think I'm just going to fab up some mounts on my own.

How are you going to sling mud with those big mud flaps?

My truck's more of a street queen. I didn't want it to be like that but after spending an hour and $25 at the car wash cleaning all the mud and long grass out of my suspension I decided to leave the mudding for the ATV.

You need a friend with a pressure washer. I know how big of a pain it is to clean. I just make it worth it every time I get it really muddy

I have a pressure washer and the car wash I go to has an even better one. Even on my quad it's hard to get the stuff out. Wraps itself around axles and ties itself onto the suspension everywhere. Pretty much have to get under it and pull the stuff off, and even then you spend a lot of time getting it out. Not worth my time.

I had mine installed at a local offroad shop for $25 a set, and I believe they mounted by pulling out those little black tabs on the edge of the fender and they just bolted up. I'll go look at them tommorow to see if thats how they are mounted.
