Cannot Turn Off "Auto Lock"

I'm trying to turn off the "feature" where the truck automatically locks the doors when you drive off. I tried the programming procedure listed in the owners manual on page 101, it lets me enter program mode. Double clicking the lock button won't give me "one beep" which turns the feature off. It only cycles between 2 and 3 beeps, neither of which turns off the auto lock.

I figured it out, the owners manual on Ford's website was wrong. Step 4 states push lock button 2X, but in fact it requires the unlock followed by the lock button in order to deactivate the auto lock.

Care to share the whole process or at least a link to it? I want to deactivate this system. I think it the system would be better if it unlocked when you stopped and put the truck in park. Lol but since it doesnt i will just deactivate the whole system.

The auto lock wouldn't be so bad on the Regular/Super cabs where the door will open from the inside even if locked.
With a Screw its a PITA since I have to remember to unlock the doors before getting the kids out of the back.

From the owners manual, corrected version, is it worthy of a sticky or how to?:
Deactivating/activating power door lock/unlock disable feature:

All vehicle doors must be closed before beginning the procedure. You
must complete Steps 1–5 within 30 seconds, or the procedure will have
to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must wait a
minimum of 30 seconds to begin again.

1. Turn the ignition to the 3 (ON) position, then press the unlock button
three times.

2. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position, then press the unlock
button three times.

3. Turn the ignition to the 3 (ON) position; the horn will chirp to
indicate the driver configuration mode has been activated.

4. Within five seconds, press the unlock button then the lock button
One chirp should be heard, indicating the system has been disabled.

5. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position to exit programming.
Note: After exiting the driver configuration mode, the horn will chirp
once to indicate a feature has been activated/deactivated.
