New Tunes Installed = Emissions Light and Stalling -- Anyone?

Finally just got new tunes for my F150 and for some reason it drove find for 60 miles and then on the way home it stalled out on me twice resulting in the emissions system light coming on.....it literally shut off so quickly that I had no idea the first time.

Anyone else experience this? Could be a truck issue or does the tune need a modification done to correct it?

Where are the tunes from?

What were you doing when it stalled?

Could be overly rich

Set back to stock and call your tuner

It could be old fuel trims left in the pcm.....

It will not hurt to try this......

Put your vehicle back to stock

Disconnect the negative lead on the battery

Turn your head lights on

Wait about 20-30 minutes>>>clean your throttle body and maf also change the fuel filter

Turn your headlights off

Reconnect the negative lead on the battery

Drive around with the stock tune 100-150 miles

Then reload tune of your choice

If this doesn't work call your tuner

I have emailed the tuner back, don't wish to give them a bad image since noone is perfect, problem is it probably won't be fixed til monday and the truck can't drive without a tune. The php tunes I had for the truck don't help it and I had one temp customized to make it run decently and that doesn't save when you return it to stock.

I'm debating trying another one of the tunes since the tuner sent me 3. Hopefully it's tune related and not another truck issue (even though I do hear my cats going)

Thanks wish I could try this but truck doesn't run well without a tune and leaving the lights on for more than 10 mins would probably kill the battery (hids)

Reread the instructions CAREFULLY

Your battery is already disconnected.....

I think its time you give a local dyno a shot....at least if you have issues they might be able to be corrected on the spot....

well it gets even better. Changed to the 93 Performance, drove it over 150 miles fine, on the way home from my friend's shore house, it start to shake violently while going up hills at around 60 to 7mph...through it in 4wd to see if it was that and it got insanely worse in 4wd.

It also started throwing p0300 and p0306 (plugs have been changed 15k ago) and the emissions light would flash on and off while going up any time of hill if I was on the throttle.

Anyone?

Returned to stock cleared the ecm but issues are still there just not throwing codes just yet since it takes a few miles to get them to show again

well looks like bad plugs, getting them replaced tomorrow. Haven't heard anything from the tuner yet about this issue but I do know it happened after running on his tune....I wonder who I'm going to send the repair bill for my plugs with under 20k on them.......no reason for cylinder 6 to be misfiring already unless it was tune caused.

Pay the bill and forget about it. Tuning is done at your OWN risk.

Ford Motorcraft installed by a dealership. Just cost me another $566 today but my truck runs like the day before I put those stupid tunes in, the best part is that the tuner hasn't gotten back to me in two days as to what he's going to do whether re-do the tunes or something...but at this point he can have his tunes and tuner and give me my money back. I have had several people tune my Mustang and NEVER had it cause any issues like this.
