Lightbulb EATC swap started

hey guys. I'm planning on doing a complete write up on this as i can't seem to find a good guide or really anyone who's finished the project. i did the first EATC swap/upgrade in the Taurus SHO world and feel very confident in doing this swap. the SHO swap consisted of merging two units, usually an explorer & the original unit, into one as the old taurus EATC buttons were crap and prone to breakage. anyways, i loath the *****. i'm just so use to set it and forget it. this is my first vehicle without a EATC. So, from what i've gather so far its fairly straight forward. my eatc arrived tonight and I was out toying around with it and oddly found its reversing the panel and floor. for example when panel is pushed it comes out the floor ect.. but i'm not sure if the defrost is working but maybe. hard to tell without the blower fan going. i'll have to figure that out as the wiring diagram in that area is exactly the same. should be fun project!!

For what it's worth, I owned a 91 SHO+ back in the late 90's/early 00's. Surprised quite a few 5.0's in that car despite the FWD and torque-steer like a mother . . .thing had some of the most comfortable seats too.

Ok i'm probably wrong on the stock unit. I thought the defrost was stuck open but i was judging that by the air coming out the window vents. I thought they where connected. It appears it blows a little bit of air in the floor, floor/defrost, and defrost settings. whoops. oddly enough during EATC testing I found that my A/C was cycling but was unsure if it was blowing cold air as its a little bit chilly here. I'm guessing most likely not but that would be cool if you didn't need to move wires for that part. more info to come..

I had a 93 SHO as well, loved that car as a 19 year old. What did the EATC look like in it? After reading I can't remember for the life of me what it even looked like. I really loved that car, still sometimes think about finding an old one and restoring it. I really wish they could have figured out how to put a tranny in that car. Mine went out at the usual 80k mark and it was never the same.

^ wait, so are you using the new auto climate control found in the 04+ trucks or retrofitting an older one?

I did the etac swap in my truck. The only problem I ran into was that the ac won't work without a small wiring change. Keep us posted

At some point, I want to convert my SVT Focus to the European EATC too:
