I have a 15" AMI Big Stick in black on my truck and have loved it ever since I got it.

http://www.autoanything.com/chrome-a...A5000A0A0.aspx

When i got mine I had like a 15% off the order so was a good price. If you visit the site under a registered account and leave it on the last item you looked at they will send an email asking if you are still interested and give you a discount code to enter for the purchase.

Sure it will, but no more than what you'd get from buying a shorter one already-made. There is nothing special about a stubby antenna other than it being shorter, they get worse reception due to being shorter; that's just they way it is. If you live in a heavilty populated area (read:city) it probably won't affect you much. The people who live 30+ miles away from the radio towers are the ones who start seeing the loss in signal. Solution: get Sirius radio and be done with terrestrial radio altogether!

I bought two of these from eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300577270638), one for the F150 and one for the Ranger. Ordered on Tuesday, got them earlier today. So far, reception is the same as stock, but then again, I hardly listen to the radio anyway.

I dont have a better picture of mine but you can see it in this picture.

The antenna is actually from my mustang. My mustang antenna was silver. I cut it down and beveled the tip so I could put the ball back on. Once it was all back together, i sprayed it black. It was cut to match roof height on the mustang. When I traded the mustang in, I swapped the antenna onto the truck. Its a little shorter than roof height but I prefer it to the whip that comes stock.

On my 06 I used a hidden powered amplified antenna that's used for touring motorcycles......then I took an acorn type nut and painted it black and used it to cap off the external one....
