Week two...
Week two...
Evening all. Now enterting week two with the truck and week one was awesome!
Had the truck clayed and waxed today. Smooth is all I can say. I have several spots that need touched up from normal wear and tear damage.
Couple of questions I have for you all though.
1. I got the factory F-150 mats but the rear isnt a one piece. Any good ideas for this?
2. Anyone know of any door sill protectors for the passenger and rear sills?
3. I see that tire size from factory was 255's but I purchased it with 295's. Any idea what size this would compare to like 33's?
4. Performance is good. Have been looking into an edge programmer to help with shift points and of course a tad more power never hurts. Opinions?
5. Dont know when the oil was changed last so think this next week will get oil changed and possibly the fuel filter just to have it done.
6. Been doing a lot of reading on this forum and others. Trying to see what all is needed to do to it and/or I should be on the look out of.
Overall so far I can say that although I may not be a true Ford truck fan I am digging this one so far. Anyone ever notice that when your researching something or buy something its all you see? I have seen soo many F-150's out there now. WEIRD!!!
Ill wrap this up with saying thanks for all the warm welcomes and advice this far. If there is anything else to tell me about these trucks or Ford Im all eyes on here.

The 295s are likely closer to a 34" or 35" tire depending on the aspect ratio and rim size. Programmers are nice with these trucks, I'd look into custom tuning for the best performance for your $.
I have husky liners for floor mats and they have a 1 piece for the rear seat floor.

assuming it's a 295/70/ 17 you have a 33.3/11.7 tire.
assuming it's a 295/70/18 you have a 34/11.6 tire
for a tuner, look into VMP or troyer. will be MUCH better than the edge and around the same price.
if you have the 5.4, in the next 20k miles i'd look into doing the spark plugs just for safe measure. if the 4.6 don't worry about it until it needs it.
edit: just saw in another thread you have an intake. definitely do custom tuning.

Yeah I have the 295/70R17's. Thanks so now I know what they equate to. Down side is that the factory gears are 3.55 and thats whats in there still. Now that being said the truck has no isues going or shifting. Seems great actually.
Ok well it will be some time before I am ready to purchase a tuner but am looking at options. I didnt think I would have to custom tune my truck like my Harley with the power commander. Interesting stuff these days. Guess the previous owner started and now I need to keep going with the mods.

having run an edge and custom tunes, the power difference is incredible. the tune will also fix your speedometer.
Hey thanks for the great info.
Okay so anyone have any websites to direct me to?
One other thing I thought about. The next item to purchase as I mentioned in my first post is nerf bars. I like the look of factory ones but am open to options though.

n-fabs seem like a popular choice, but you can pick up OEM used for a pretty good deal as well. i like none, i need to remove mine at some point. if you have a wife i'd suggest them
for tuners, my friends and i with fords seem to like VMP, my dad had PHP and we had issues that couldn't be fixed. others here have had great success with them. your best bet is to research the tuner section (top of the forum) and make your own decision. the Big 3 are troyer, VMP, and PHP and 5 star tuning is growing quickly with popularity as well.
