Motorcraft tranny filter or not ???

Well the truck ( 07 150 5.4 ) has 72k now and the dealership did the first exchange at 40k, so i'm getting due. Planning on doing the flush myself by removing the line to the radiator and then droppin the pan ( someone did a awesome writeup recently , i gonna use.) My trans code is Q so I have the 4r75e and the dealership want $45 for the filter ! I checked and the napa, advanced auto etc., they have them but not motorcraft. Does it make a difference?

Damn 45 just for the filter did you ask how much they wanted for the filter change? Rock Auto has it for 15.98. Look around.

ive used pro king brand filters from advance plenty and have no problems with them. 15 bucks or so for the filter, and the gasket (if you hurt the oem one thats reusable) ive put them in my truck twice, no problems. fk218.
