Lurching from park to drive?

Almost every time I shift from drive to park the truck lurches. My foot is definitely on the breaks hard enough and you can hear the pad "creak" to stop the truck. I believe it usually happens the most when its cold if that makes any difference. It also does it sometimes, not as bad, going form park to reverse.

Is this a possible transmission problem? Or is this normal?

I have a 2006 F-150 FX4 4X4.

Because....

Its because there is so much power under the hood waiting to be unleashed......

JK man. I see it happens when it is cold. I would immediately say its because the engine hasn't come up to temperature and still at "cold" idle which is a bit higher than when it is warmed up.

^^ Exactly my thoughts... the idle is in the 500 or 600s, (mine is set at 650ish) I let mine idle to just under 1k then take off and when it's cold it does what you describe

Haha just wants to go!

Yea I was kinda thinking that was just a normal idle thing. I'm glad to hear there's nothing wrong with my truck. Thanks for the input.
