Battery Voltage

I always though good voltage was around 13.5 or so for a car while running. I just read in a thread that glc posted in that it was too low. Whats everyone's thoughts on this, because if it is in fact too low, I need an alternator I think.

13.5 and up is okay with the truck running, just make sure thats with everything on, headlights, ac, radio, ect. my truck started doing 13.7 at its lowest, put a new battery in and now im at 14.2 or so.

No generally when its at 13.5V thats it running. With the A/C on it drops to under 13V which I know is bad, but I never use the A/C or heat so I dont care. Only thing I use besides headlights is the radio.

It should be 13.8 to 14.4 when running. It may drop lower at idle with a lot of accessories running. Go get your battery and alternator tested.

13.5 volts may be ok depending on rpm and load. I would have a shop load test the alternator and battery
