What do you call this piece?????

It is the rod that attaches about mid-way down the inside 'hinge area' of my door. Not the top or bottom hinge, but the rod that goes in and out of the truck and attaches to the door. I believe it controls the tension on the door when you open and close it... Anyway mine is broken. It attaches with 2 screws where it meets the door, and mine looks to have snapped right next to the top screw. It is still doing it's job, but makes a clicking noise a couple of times when opening and closing as it comes out of alignment with itself... Does anyone know what this rod/piece is called? Would it be covered under warranty? Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
Steve

I think it is the "door check" part number 22886. If you purchased extended bumper to bumper warranty it may be covered, but it appears to be a cheap part anyways.

That looks right... Thank you. Does anyone know if this is a fairly easy fix?

Does anyone know... Do you have to remove the dash to get to the inside connection on this repair? The outside looks easy, just a couple of screws... Anyone?
