so on my way home today i stopped to get a monster, when i got back in my truck i started it up(which the start up was completely normal). I noticed that my radio display was kinda strobing. hmm interesting. so i pulled over and turned off the truck and it still was doing it. open the door it went off. i noticed a clicking sound coming from the passenger kick panel, oh great... turn the truck back on with no problems. made it home, pulled the fuse panel cover off and found the it relay 201 that was doing the clicking. relay was pulled and the truck started via key. when i turned it back off the click was still heard coming from a 2nd location. this time by the top of the gas tank. so i went inside and started googling which lead me to here. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. sorry the truck is a 2006 f150 fx4 supercab flareside

 

What does relay 201 do?
It's listed in your owners manual

 

My truck was doing something similar one night 2 weeks after I got it. Only thing different was it wouldn't start at all, the lights were flashing and the gauges were going crazy.

Haven't had a problem with it since..

 

yea i looked out side after it got dark and looked like a party was going on. so i unhooked the battery, i guess ill wait to see what tomorrow brings. did you problem just go away on its own?

 

201 said it was for the trailer lights

 

Ya it did. I stopped to get gas on my way home from work and when I went to leave it was 15 minutes before I could get it started. It ran fine on the way home and I tried to replicate the problem once I got home but it wouldn't do it again.
