Couple Questions About 05 F150

Hi Guys,

New to the forums and looking to get an F150.

The one I am looking at is an F150 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 in Dark Stone and black interior with 117,000KM.

Couple questions before I talk to the dealer. In these pictures what rims/tires do these appear to be? Does the suspension appear to be modified?

The add says "oversized" tires.

Think that is all my questions for now but am sure to have many more when I do get an F150!!

Thanks!

Hi Takz,

That truck looks like it has a 2.5'' level kit with 33'' BF Goodrich all terrain tires(good tire by the way). So yes they are considered oversized tires compared to stock, the level kit simply levels out the truck to give it an even stance. As far as the rims go im not sure. Nice looking truck, how much are they asking? And whats 117k km converted into miles?

i agree with trukki and those rims are stumping me! only thing i could think of is some for of pro-comp wheel and if thats the case you have a good tire on a good wheel!

I believe the wheels are a Mamba wheel, I'm not sure what model, but the brand Mamba I think.

117,000km is roughly 72,000 miles. They are asking $18,995 sounds like they would take $17,000. Inside is in amazing condition and has been very well taken care of. Not so much as even a fading arrow on the window controls.

Really stumped on the rims as well.

i would definetly try and talk them down i payed 17 for my 2004, in 2008. Its not a terrible deal i dont think but could definetly talk them down, even with the wheels and tires on there.

Two years ago I paid 16,600 for my 2006 4X4 crew cab XLT at 105,000 kilometers ....

I think it is a bit overpriced ... Did you check Hanna ford prices at Collingwood ? if you are not in a hurry you can do better I believe. I know yours is an FX4 but still ...

Good luck with your purchase.

hanna ford has a 2005 lariat at 100,00 clicks, 5.4l 4X4, crew cab, listed at 17,888 ..... Please look around some more ... you can find better deals ...

Like said before, they look to be about 33" tall, so yes they are oversized by about an inch, and it looks like they are on a 17" or 18" wheel. 17k is a good deal for a screw with those miles, especially if it is a clean truck. I payed 18k for my 4x4 screw with 59k a year ago, which is alittle high, but it was super clean and came with 20" pro comps with tires and stock wheels with tires.

Yeah looking around for a better deal but it seems hard to find a low KM truck here in Southern Alberta that isn't very expensive.

You should definately factor in the cost of the cam phaser repair which will likely be needed soon($1300 USD) and make them change the plugs before you purchase it( $300-800 USD at the dealer). Luckily I read alot of post in this forum before I bought my 2005 so I printed out many of the problem post and brought it in with me. I Ended up negotiating an additional $7000 USD off the price due to all the issues with this year model truck since it was already making the diesel sound that alot of these make. Now I'm using the $7K discount off there original price to build a new forged internals motor and port and polish on the heads. Good luck in your negotiation.
