Here is the deal. I bought a f150 about a month ago for a good deal. I no longer needed the truck so I decided no to register it. The NC title is signed by the previous owner, and he left the buyers name blank. I put the guys name in there who bought it from me. So when he goes to the VA dmv it looks like the guy that bought the truck from me bought it from the guy I bought it from. When I got the truck from NC the seller never got his signature notarized, but since VA doesn't require notarization I figured the guy that bought the truck from me would be fine. I hear that the notarization spot on the NC title needs to be filled only if it is a NC to NC title transfer.

I've never bought a vehicle from NC, but have from many other states and I have never had trouble registering them in VA. He should be able to take the signed title to the DMV and register it, but you never know when it comes to the ANY DMV!!

Thanks, I am only worried because it has a place to be notarized. I have googled it some and think that is only used when transferring the title between NC residents.

How were you going to register it w/o the notarization from the original seller. Worst case, he'll have to get the notarization somehow.

I didn't think it was needed, because here in VA they don't require it
