Unhappy Unique high pressure line???

Hello everyone..My truck is a mint 2005 f-150 SC 4X4 4.2 STX (41,000 miles) ...bought new in May 05

It developed a slight drip on the high pressure line (power steering) where its clamped to the chassis?..i was forewarned that clamp is an engineering marvel thats now causing the leak.

Called a local repair shop and was quoted $70-80 for the OEM line and 1.3 labor at $85..
Ok brought it in..Got a call this morning "Whoops" Dealer item only..
Cause it has a cooling fin on it or something?
Anyway the price goes to $186 for the line and 1.5 labor or around $311 total
and cant be gotten till nest Wednesday???

Does this all seem right with you pros?? No other hose (cheaper)will fit??

Ok -Girl question??
Since I only knew it had a leak cause it was a couple drops on the garage floor,
is it ok just to keep the level up and keep truckin??
How much time (estimate) before its a tow truck deal? :o
Thanks Much for your thought!!

Check rockauto.com or tascafordparts online for cheap prices. I recently had a hole in my low pressure A/c line. Dealer wanted $107, tasca wanted $68, I found a genuine Motorcraft Line on Amazon for $34 shipped! I know you probably don't have much time but a little research and you can find cheaper prices on the internet and even with overnight shipping will beat dealer prices.
