Ghost in my truck

Today my seat decided that it wants to go allthe way up on its own as soon as I hit the unlock on my key fob and after the truck is running. Any Ideas, I figure its probably a astronomically exspensive multi function module?

here is a cheap solution - don't hit unlock when the truck is running!

definitely wait and see if it happens again before spending money to fix it... might just be some random event...

I have one of those. I named him Joey. He only shows up after the wife has been driving it. All the presets are changed, the seats are all messed up, pedals are moved, the steering wheel is re-tilted, and sometimes the lights have been taken off the "auto" function. lol.
He can be pretty tricky, it's always something new. lol.

He is friendly, don't worry.

you have a lariat?

on the driver side seat do u have a "1" button, "2" button, and a "set" button?

if so, continue reading, if not then stop here.

the power seats in the truck can be programmed to move to a specific spot with your key fob. obviously, having a 1 button and a 2 button mean you can have 2 different seat positions.

anyway, heres how.

1. move your seat to where you want it, up, down, front, back, and the power pedals to where you want them.

2. hit the set button on the side of the seat, then hit lock or unlock on the key fob then hit the number 1 button.

the number 1 button is now programmed to move the seat to that position when u either hit the 1 button on the side of the seat, or when u use your fob.

obviously you can also program the number 2 button to a specific spot and program it to a certain fob as well, ie, the wife.

now, when whichever one of you gets in the truck and u use the fob to unlock it, it will move to seat to your desired spot.

note: when hitting the 1 or 2 buttons to move a seat the vehicle has to b in park. it will not move the seat automatically if not in park. (you can move it manually via the multifunction switch though while driving, and u can program while driving.)

hope this helps.

Good post 02SC4x4, I didn't know you could program it to the key fob.
