Rancho 4" lift & 9000xl shocks installed

Well...getting installed right now

Never had a lifted truck (or leveled for that matter) so im kinda excited. Truck has 149k and the stock shocks were pretty sad. So I decided to take advantage of the 500$ rebate deal going on. It will probably look a little funny with the not quite 33" tires but they wont get changed until they are wore out. Plan is 35's.

Something I was wondering...I am not too keen on all the rim specs and all...I know rancho says 18x9 with 35 and a certain bs...would a 20x9 with the same specs also fit?

I will post pics when I get it back...should be this afternoon.

Anyone want to post pics of there rancho 4" lift and rim setup feel free.

Some stock pics

Very cool, can't wait to see pics!
See my albums but my original setup were 325/60r18's on Helo Maxx 6 rims which were 18x9 with 5.5" backspace. So that's a pretty wide tire but the bs is near stock...I had no rubbing issues whatsoever. I ended up getting a set of Diamo Karat rims which are 18x10 and 4.5" bs and although the the tires were narrower (35x12.5"), I rubbed pretty severely. I installed a Daystar 1" lift spacer which fixed the rubbing on the back of the fender well, but still had to trim a small corner of the plastic air dam.

Do yourself a favor and don't plan on running those 33s until they wear out unless that is going to be real soon. it will look worse with a 4" lift and 33s than it does now (not that it looks bad now). if you can't afford new tires at this time sell the 33s and buy some used 35s to get you through.

Your truck is one that I kept seeing when i was doing all my searches on the 4" lift. I would rather not have to trim anything but could if it was minor.

Altho I relay dont want to run these until they wear out...it would have to be a pretty good deal for me to buy some 35's now for it. Shelling out enough $ for now on it lol. I also will probably put the firestone ride-rites on....just got a roush grill and led tails too.

I'm Jealous!
I shoot myself in the foot everyday that I did not go for the RANCHO 4" Lift! (Decided on Rancho 2" level instead)

I love how the Rancho QL rides, but it's not tall enough. This truck really does need a 4" Lift!

Can' wait to see pics.

Save yourself some unsprung weight. I went with 17" wheels and 34" tires. I don't have any good pictures yet, though.

Reading about your regret is also something that pushed me to the 4" lol.

I want at least 18's...just wondering about 20's. I will more than likely keep with 18's tho.

I think 35's look best on 18's and 20's but that's just my opinion. As far as your tires are concerned, I understand that you want to get your money out of them but at the end of the day, you will just discard them and buy new tires. I would consider selling them while they still have value. Even at $50 or $100 a tire, thats more money towards new tires then if you run 'em bald and trash them. One thing you may want to consider is to get on Craiglist or visit tire shops near you and see if you can get a set of used 35s with some decent tread on them. In fact, I have a 35" Toyo as my spare and it has about a year and half worth of tread on it and the shop just gave it to me.

Just something else to chew on...

I hear you...its not a matter of wanted to get my $ worth out the tire...its just not having the $ to get new ones lol. I will definitely be keeping my eye open for something on the the cheap in a 35.

On a semi side note...what is the biggest I can fit on the spare under the truck?

You could always buy the lift now and wait to install it when you can afford tires also.

I would stay with 18s if I were you. The tires are much cheaper and come in alot more sizes. As far as the spare, you should be able to fit a 33 under there no problem, but I think people have tried a 35 and it didn't fit. You might be able to squeeze one under there if its a bald 35 or one that isn't too meaty. You could always stick it in the bed since you have the tonnoeu.

Its being installed right now lol. I would rather look a little silly on smaller tires than have 2k worth of stuff chillin in my garage until i could shell out for tires. Besides my shocks are really bad at 149k...wants to loose control over bumps.

I will have to see what under there now...I never looked...got the truck as a hand me down at work. I wont be hauling any tires in the bed tho...ill just put a 33" and go slow to the tire shop.

...not if your flat is in the rear. Since you have a limited slip diff, you better be sure you have a full size spare or you'll need to swap a front tire back to the rear.

I have a 35x12.5 on the OEM spare rim under my truck...it fits fine. I ran a support chain over the frame and locked through the spare just in case the lowering cable ever breaks due to the weight of that 35...yep its heavy. I see by your sig that you have a custom exhaust: You'll need to test fit a 35" spare to be sure it clears your exhaust.

yeah i know about having to put the shorter tire on the front becasue I do have a LS.

As for the exhaust...ill have to look then...i had them put it as close together as it could so it might not be enough room
