rearend clutch packs

so for the last 5 months my clutches have bean slipping and every thing so after reading some post and every thing i did not find much on how to do it besides that u should not really try it your self well i was not to pay the ford dealer 700 pls tax to put 60 buck clutch pack it
my truck is an 05 f150 fx4 with 150 k on it and 9.75 rearend it was about a 12 hr job taking ower time doing it but its together and working well taking apart was not easy but came up with some idas to put it together and after the secned time apart cuz a washer behind the spider fell out and did not see it till it was back in the truck out it came again all the tools u need to get the spinder grears out are a vice some 1/2" readyrod/allthread and a strap wrench and some washers

put one of your axles in the vice make some washer sit where the axle C clips sit put a nut on them and thread in your althread so the nuts push ageist the gears cauzing the clutch packs to compress
then drop the carrer on to the axle in the vice
take your strap wrench and start turning the case witch will spine your spider gears out then u can get the clutch packs out after taking the allthread out just just watch there what way every thing is sitting

my set had a .075 shims in it the kid u get will have up to .085 i think i put a new .080 shim on both sides oh and u have to sock your clutchs in the friction modafire for 15 to 30 mins befor putting them back in

so as u put it all back in the say way u got it out with the allthread pushing the clutches apart just watch as u spin the spider grears in u have them timed right and the washers on the back side of the spiders are in place and u should be good to go

Punctuation would make this how-to thread almost useful.

Try to read your own post back aloud, before hitting submit. I often have to do it a few times.
