04 5.4 3v Plug replacement
Have not posted in a while. Hoever wanted to share my plug changing experience at 97,000
1. Put can of 44k in with a half tank. And ran it almost down to empty.
2. Took air hose and cleaned all os sand and grit from around plug wells.
3. While hot I pulled the ECM, ECM bracket, Battery box, and coils.
4. Used air house to blow out wells again.
5. Sprayed ample amount of Seafoam Deep Creep in each plug well.
6. Let sit overnight.
7. Tried to use torque wrench set to 32 pounds to remove plugs.
8. Broke all 8. Used LISLE 65600 to easily remove the broken part.
9. Replace with Champion piece pllugs. Replaced coils.
10. Put everything back together.
11. Had a whistle in the motor, rough idle and fuel smell.
12. Took all apart again, torqued plugs to 25 lb/ft.
Runs great.
Lisle 65600 was the lifesaver.
