A Thank You
Today, I had my 2005 Ford F-150 do the infamous "Clicking" but no starting problem. Constant clicking with the key removed worried me that something serious was wrong with my vehicle. I attempted to jump and charge the vehicle but nothing worked. I was tempted to have my vehicle towed to Ford to have it looked at. But before I did that, I searched the internet for my problem and I stumbled onto these forums.
I want to say that this forum helped me save a lot of time and money. Also, it lowered my stress level wondering what was wrong with my vehicle. I removed my battery took it to Autozone and, of course, the battery was bad. While I was there the employee told me my battery was still under warranty. So off to the Ford Dealership.
Ford basically told me there was nothing they could do without a receipt. After arguing with the service employee and going back and forth about how 1. I was a returning customer and I was in the system 2. They had a file showing my battery had been replaced just that I was not listed because the dealership was being bought out and some files had been lost 3. My battery said "FORD" on it 4. Explaining if they sent me away with a bad battery, that was under warranty, was completely the wrong way to treat a customer; they relented. They told me they would try with the service manager and try with entering it into the system so that they could be refunded for the battery. They returned with a new 540 amp battery, the same kind I had before. Quite a bit of back and forth with these guys, that was unnecessary and not a way to keep people coming back to Ford.
I read that the 540 amp battery isn't great but for free, and for now, this battery will work. Next time I will upgrade to the better battery.
I want to personally thank this forum for the help, big shout out to BlueJay for his story on his truck doing the same thing. It really helped out. Please keep up the good work guys and continuing to support the F-150 community.

Glad you found the info you needed. There is a TON of more info on here especially with the 04-05 issues with injectors, COPS, plugs you name it.
