Gryphon hands down....I couldn't drive my truck without my programmer...I do on occasion when going to the service center for something and they may need to reflash it.....Its like driving a completely different truck and frankly...it sucks

With the response to my question answered, I say Gryphon first. Then you can upgrade sound in stages. Start with head unit of choice, then add sub and amp, then when you get to it replace the factory speakers. In the past I have replaced head unit, added good sub and amp and left factory speakers. You can control enough settings with a good head unit to save your oem speakers until you can get around to replacing them.

This may be the best route, do BOTH!

The stock system in my FX2 SUCKED!!!!!!!!! And $1k is probably not enough for a good system. I have that just in the HU, and more than that in the Stealth Box, Amp and speakers; and it sounds absolutely great!!

Well you have all done a great job at answering my question guess its time to get fast and do the gryphon.
