The blower does not work either. Wow, this one's out of range for most of us here.
(hence the 80 views and no responses)
Obvoiusly something is majorly malfunctioning.

You'll have to take it to a dealer for a "pin-point" test.
Maybe a re-flash of your computer will take care of it.
Keep us informed of what it turned out to be.
Good Luck

It sounds awfully like you have a ground problem or a problem at one of the splices for that ground. When you are turning on the "AC", it is getting ground through a separate circuit and "upsetting" the entire system as evidenced by indicators lighting, etc. Do you have manual or auto climate control? A quick look at the Shift Interlock circuit shows ground (G202) and splices (S205 & S203) before that ground. Someone will have track it down for sure.

The manual I have is for an '05, but I have found it be accurate for my '07; so I'm sure it pertains to the '04 as well.

P.S. Ground (G202) is also the ground for the Indicator Flasher Relay, so the more I look into it, the more I'm convinced it is a ground problem. Good luck and let us know what you find.

If the grounds you are talking about are the ones by the fuse panel then damn your a genius, when you mentioned grounds it got me to thinking about my Bambi Mod, and where i grounded it at, apparently when i grounded it there, i didnt get the bolt back tight enough and i tightened it and bam everything worked like normal! thank you so much, every one i have asked that i know didnt have a clue what it was but had ideas and one the my body control module, and that would have been an expensive fix

I knew it had to be a ground problem!! I have seen cars/trucks do VERY strange things with improper grounds. Not very many people have experience with these types of issues, it takes a little knowledge, some research and sometimes luck.

You're welcome and I'm glad I could help.
