Does the XL have in-door wiring for power locks?

I've been searching the forum for info about power door locks and haven't been able to find the answer to this question: If I want to put power door locks in my XL, will there already be a wiring harness in the door, or will I need to run wiring myself to the dash?

Thanks!

Nope.

Did a power conversion on my 2006 XL regular cab (https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...onversion.html)

You can wire an aftermarket kit to the factory switches if you want, so that the system appears OEM, but as for the power windows, you'll need to buy power regulators, you'll need door lock actuators, and if you're looking at power mirrors, you'll need some extra wire.

Here is a good place to start: http://electric-life.com/

Otherwise if just power locks are what you want, you can get a set installed with keyless entry at the local Best Buy or automotive electronics shop.

I just remembered that the guys who installed my aftermarket power windows had to pull some wires for power - I wonder if I could tap into that.

Thanks for the link to that other thread. Very informative.

no you cannot tap into those wires. new wires need to be ran...however the door boot is very easy to run wires through.
