Couple questions regarding rear differential and exhaust
Couple questions regarding rear differential and exhaust
Thanks to kingfish51 yesterday for helping me to identify a problem with the breather hose on my rear axle. I bought the stuff to change the differential fluid today and tried to get the fill plug out before cracking open the differential and I can't get the damn thing to budge, here's what it looks like:

Any solutions on how to get this unstuck? WD-40 and a breaker bar?
Also, my differential cover looks like total #@$. Is this thing worth salvaging or should I just get a new one?

And on a completely unrelated note, while I was down there I was checking out my exhaust. It looks like I have a mid-muffler with two pipes coming out of it. One goes all the way out to the back of the truck, and one looks like it's just cut off and bent upwards towards the bed.. does this seem normal at all? It doesn't seem like a good idea to me. In the pics below you can see the one, and the other one is the one heading to the back of the truck.

Thanks ahead for any input!

You got all kinds of problems. The drain plug is made to put a 3/8" extension in there and take it out with a ratchet. As for the exhaust, it looks like the second tailpipe got damaged so they just sawed it off and left it. I'd get that changed and maybe paint the bed where it is all burnt before it rusts away
