2005 fx4 supercrew trans D.O.A.

is the 5r100 trans used in the 2005 fx4 supercrews with 2.55 rearend? tranny is out and im looking for a better less expensive option than the local shops reman trans for 3400 installed. thanks!

I think fx4's have 3:73's as a standard gear.

my mistake, my fx4 came with the 3.55 rear end gears, but my question is what are the trannies installed in the 05 fx4's.

Your tranny is a 4R75E.

I have been having a few trans problems so I have been window shopping. Tasca Ford has a Ford Reman trans with 3yr unlimited mileage warranty for around $1700. Not sure what the labor would be at a dealer though.
