Thank you! I've always wanted a bigger engine but I do love the 5speed. I've always liked your truck as well.

Your truck with the 5-speed & a 5.4 would be a hoot to drive! Years ago I had a 1991 K-1500 4x4 Chevy regular cab short bed sport with a 5.7 & a 5-speed! I loved that truck! Wish I still had her!........

Nice work. I would hate to have to deal with all that road salt. We use sand around here. I also like to clean up the tailpipe. Looks better than a dirty one.

I'm getting about 19 mpg highway. I never run it past 2k rpms and I have 3.55's in the rear. I also change the fuel and air filters yearly. lost about 1 mpg going from the 235/70-17 stock Hankook A/S to 245/70-17 Firestone Destination A/T's. They are worth it though for the winter.
I know everyone dogs the V6 but the 4.2 was a capable motor. I pulled alot with mine and as long as I kept it in the right gear I had plenty of power. My new 05 4.6 has power too but I hate, HATE the drive-by-wire. I wish they made a 4.6 with a strong manual transmission in the 04-08 body style.

I agree. The 4.2 does everything I need. Sure, I like a V8, but I enjoy the manual too much. The drive by wire doesn't really bother me. I suppose I've gotten used to it in the past three years.

Rustproofing

I like your truck, looks good. I agree on rustproofing especially if you live in the rustbelt. They use so much salt here, without some protection it will rust through in no time. That's why I got mine Ziebarted when I bought them and I feel it's money well spent.
