What is this?

Removed my radio/HVAC panel today to look at my OEM stereo. Found a wiring harness attached to the middle of the back of the panel that holds the cigarette lighter and the switch that turns on/off the reverse sensors. But there is nothing on the front of that panel that would justify/explain the purpose of that wiring. What is the purpose/function of that wiring harness? I would post photos, but I am not allowed to do so.

one thing i noticed in the owners manual is it shows a traction control button that i've never seen on a actual truck so that could be it.

Mine has the same thing. Its most likely where a traction control button would be if you had one. Ford uses pretty much the same wiring harnesses on the different trucks to save money.

i would think its something for the auto climate control. ive seen that thing before too
