Steering wheel stereo controls

I have tried to research this but can't seem to find much. I would like to add the stereo controls to my steering wheel. From what I gathered it can be done by just buying the buttons and the taking it to the stealership to flash the computer to get them to work? Well anyways if you have done this please inform me. BTW This is on my 06 XLT Scab. TIA

I added them and had to run the wire as well, because mine did not have it. No dealer flash needed. There are a couple threads floating around.

Thanks! I did finally find that link! I think my OCD would drive me crazy with HVAC controls that don't work But where to buy the switches or at least the best price?

Those climate control switches won't work unless you have the digital climate control (etac) system.

I think he is only interested in the stereo portion of the switches.

Thanks Guys I know the HVAC controls won't work. I was saying that with my OCD I don't know if I could live with the switches there and not working!
I thought that they were just stereo controls! Oh well I gues I am not on to doing this one

Depending on what PAC you buy, you can get all AV and HVAC buttons to work. I currently have on the AV working and using a PAC-SW-1 with a Pioneer f700BT. I'm looking to get the HVAC ones integrated once all my other projects are done.
