keeping the trip meter display on ... possible?

hey guys , i know it might sound silly , but in all my previous cars ive always displayed the TRIP miles -signified by a "T" on our trucks- while i am driving . i use it everyday to calculate miles driven .
its kind of annoying every time im out of my car for a small time the gauge automatically goes back to the odometer's overall mileage and then i have to press the button again .

probably a silly question , but is there any way of keeping the TRIP miles as my default display? this truck does everything else , i was hoping theres a trick somehow . thanks !

I would like to do the same. I just don't like seeing how many miles my truck has on it!

Well my Lariat will show whatever I want in the display, but your FX4 may be different due to the different instrument cluster. I can stare at the trip mileage, the outside temp, the temp + mpg., or the odometer only.

Good luck on this! I'll be interested to see if you find a solution. I'm always calculating my mileage (thanks to ecomodder.com) so this would be quite helpful!

Thanks!

Mine shows both Total and Trip Mileage at the same time all the time. Maybe it's because I have the speedometer only cluster?
