08 foose boost guage question
08 foose boost guage question
hi guys, i just installed an autometer boost guage in my 08 foose and dont think i did it right ( lol) it shows the truck is making about 20 inches of vacuum while cruising, when i nail it the boost guage goes to the zero. even at 5000 rpm.i tee'd in to the canister on the drivers side of the supercharger ( i will try to post some pics asap ) im thinking i put it in the wrong place is all. can anyone post a pic of your guage install ? thanks
I've got an Autometer boost gauge laying around I need to install in my Foose. There's a port on the IPS/IPTS line way in the back behind the s/c that has one with a cap on it. I was going to use that. Somebody else on here said they just removed the cap an jammed the Autometer air line in there and it worked for them. Figured it's worth a shot before I end cutting a line and putting a T adapter in someplace.
How are you mounting the gauge inside the truck? I was originally planning on the Roush vent adapter but it would be more visible on the A Pillar.

ended up using the intake tee as cobraman5.0 suggested ! thanks dude ! just took me a while to find it ( not like its easy to see back there ) its right behind the blower middle to drivers side. pulled rubber 90 off, plugged in, and put it back on. deton8er i used the autometer dual pillar pod. it fit really well, and looks good. didnt use the plastic screws that came with the pod, but a decent screw just colored the top in. though not too sure about it yet lol ill post pic asap ! thanks guys

4rdtuff -That A-pillar pod appears to blend in nicely. What else are you installing on there?
I went digging through my garage to find my gauges and found a LoTek 2 gauge pod for the top tray I totally forgot about. The gauges I was looking for were intended for my old s/c SUV and never got around to installing them but I found 2 Autometer Z-Series boost and AFR gauges and a Phantom fuel pressure gauge all new in the box. I think I'll go with the matching Z-series ones, sell the fuel pressure on eBay. I realize the AFR gauge is worthless but I already own it and it will match. The Phantom series just won't blend in well on my truck so I don't consider buying a Phantom boost gauge an option.
Eventually I plan on getting an AeroForce Interceptor to use in the Roush vent pod. That would keep the Interceptor within reach to change display modes. I just don't have enough extra cash to order one at the moment. If I get a break with the weather I'll try to get the boost and AFR installed and post some pictures of the tray pod.
Anybody have any pointers on wiring up the light on the boost gauge to the dimmer switch? Which wire do I tap?

thanks deton8r ! i was really pleased with how it matched. some of the ones ive seen before are pretty ****ty. i have the matching g-series fuel pressure guage coming. i also had troubles figuring out what other guage to run lol ! would loe to hear which wire to tap as well, the way i did this one is always on when the key is on. i also wasnt sure which dimmer wire to use. the interceptor is pretty cool. i dont have one but thought about it. this summer im gonna do the snow performance alcohol injection kit and get it down the track again lol
