thanks for all the compliments and support fellas. i definitely have some plans in store for this one so keep an eye out for my official mod thread i will be starting at the beginning of next month.

Future plans include:
in dash DVD
components and sub
limo tint all around with a "brow/visor"
billet grilles
H.I.Ds
20s with 33s or 35s if i go with more lift
maybe some bushwacker fender flares depending on the wheel and tire setup i go with
running boards (the kind that sit flush and have the protruding steps)
P.T.M handles, mirror caps, and possibly bumpers (kinda digging the chrome on this one)
and a few other odds and ends like custom badges, antenna, etc.

pretty excited about the chance to build up a 4x4! this is my 6th truck but my 1st 4x4.

WoW! I actually missed having a 4x4 this weekend when I went out in the woods with my 4 wheeler and had to drive through some trails with sugar sand so I could unload the 4 wheeler.. I didnt get my truck stuck, But was super nervous that I would..

on your future plans list, i would suggest adding a fully tinted windshield coupled with a brow if you like the look. im a little partial due to my two layers of 50% on mine making it 25-28%, but a fully tinted windshield looks pretty good if you ask me. lol nice truck by the way

i cant tint the entire windshield. i have a medical exemption from the state that allows me to run as dark as i want on all my windows except my windshield. i can do a brow but it cant go below the AS1 line.

will do. does anybody know if a code is thrown as soon as there is a problem? just wondering if the check engine light will come on as soon as one sticks? doesnt appear to be a problem right now, running smooth as silk, but i would hate for it to go bad and not know until its too late.

So going from the 2010 to the 2005, what are your opinions personally on the transmissions? I've heard mixed reviews on the 2010 6 speed and that in truth its not really as far superior to the 4 speed as some say outside of the short first gear, without custom tuning of course.

As far as the injectors go I have experienced this issue twice with my 05 I had and I feel confident in saying that this issue seems to me to be something more than just an injector issue. But first to answer your question "does anybody know if a code is thrown as soon as there is a problem?" You may get a flashing SES light but you may not. I had two different injectors go bad at two different times and both times, I never had any SES light, just a truck that ran with a real bad miss.

The reason I feel it's more than just a faulty injector is that after the first one went bad and I started having intermittent rough running conditions again and the dealer not being able to simulate it, I decided to change all of them myself at my expense so I would not have it hydrolock my engine. After replacing them all, a short time later another failed and overheated my converter also burning up the 02 sensor wiring.

This makes me think that Ford either doesn't know what is really wrong or that they at least know it's not as simple as just replacing the injectors.. they are not really that costly when you compare it to an engine replacement.. And yes, I did use the latest and greatest injectors when I replaced them.

Ford is taking the cheap route out at the ownes expense... when your extend the warranty runs out and one fails and your engine is hydrolocked be prepaired to pay. And if you are one of those that say this is not an issue, well I hope you still stand by your word when you have to pay. IMO Ford should do the right thing and correct the issue with this.

Hope yours never has this issue

^^^

Ford isn't taking the easy way out, they are owning up on a VENDOR'S FAULTY PART by extending the injector's warranty on all 05's w/5.4 3v engines. That alone shows they are stepping up to do what's right.

roll your eyes al you want, Stealth. I hope for your sake that you don't have one fail after the extended warranty. And the new injectors are no better than the ones you have in there now. I am not starting any pissing match with you or anyone else who disagrees with me, just giving my experiance of what I went through and my opinion. I do not agree with the way Ford is handling this issue. Seems they do have a lot of issues with vender parts..

Wrong, you are obviously starting a pissing match and all you want to do is throw out scare tactics and a smear campaign against Ford.

Run along now and push your Chevy knowledge on a blowtie site.

Scare tactic? no, it is an issue or this question would not have been ask.

Stealth, my original answer was for the op's question and not directed toward you...

I am done with this and will not reply to any further post by you pertaining to this
