I had a pretty large area of paint flake off my roof. Luckily it was really hard to see and I was able to cover it pretty well with touch-up paint. I also had a problem with the paint flaking off along the black rubber strips that ran from front to back along the roof on both sides. Touch-up paint again.

Paint flaking off

The paint on my 2003 F-150 is flaking off in large 2" - 4" size pieces for about 3 years now. The hood, the top, and inside the bed are all flaking off. have any of you guy had success in dealing with ford after 30,000 mile warranty is up?

This is an old thread, but reasonably valid. Let me get this straight, you want Ford to cover repairs on your now 11 model year old truck?

Generally speaking, if it's not a safety issue, manufacturers won't stand behind any product that old, car, truck, motorcycle, Fridge, TV set whatever... If you can somehow get Ford to fix this on their dime you would be the first I have ever heard of...

My 2001 Saturn started peeling probably 5 years ago.

The prior 96 was peeling when I got rid of it along with the ex wife in '04.

I honestly feel VERY lucky that my '04 F150 has paint that is still holding up well... Especially since it is not garaged as it won't fit...

There's not going to be any kind of warranty on an 11 year old truck. Ford has zero obligation for paint that old.

My 06 has it peeling on top of the passenger C pillar, the roof, the inside of the tailgate (bed liner'd that), and the edges of the hood where it meets the fender. The C pillar is the only area that's really visible, but it's tiny. The other ares are sizable, the tailgate was terrible. My truck is 7 years old and spent its whole life outside in the Texas sun, I find it acceptable what is happening to my paint and don't think Ford should have to repaint anything.

Funny I just spent the day grinding and sanding the bed sides because of rust. Ford only does corrosion protect up to 5 years. Even then there has to be rust present for them to cover it.

My 05 has some chipping or flaking of the paint on the hood in a couple areas on the front edge. On a truck that 8 years old going on 9 with almost 140k on it. Just hope it doesn't get any worse than what it is now.
