f150 troubles!!! please help!!!

hi there i i am new to this whole forumn thing, so sorry if i have no idea what im doing! lol. so i have a interesting problem rightnow and some advice would be greatly helpful!

my truck is a 06 with 5.4 about 65k miles, i have an aem intake and a custom 3.5inch collector i made and tubing to a a cherry bomb glass pack wich turns out before the rear tire. anyways about 8 months ago i baught a edge tuner which i was running on the 93 tune. about a few weeks later the check engine light came on with the P0430 code, i just kept erasing this for a long time cause i had no time to look into it, i know pretty dumb. and it also smelled to be running pretty rich. however last week i changed out that bank 2 downstream 02 and the light went off! 2 days later it came back on NOW with the p0420 and p0430 codes wth!! so i checked the rest of my 02s with my buddies test tool and they all checked out fine!! i have no other codes also, this one has me pretty well stumped!!

now my question is, did the edge tuner mess things up cause its not programed for aftermarket intake, exhaust which may have lead to the running rich? also would the 3.5" exhaust i have anything to do with it running that way, and why am i still pulling the codes i turned my tuner back to stock also, is it possible i burned up my cats from the excess fuel over time??? i really dont know what to do next!! so any input would be GREATly appreciated!!! thanks guys

With those 2 codes, your cats are toast. You cooked them by running too rich. Replace your cats, and send your Edge into PHP for a Gryphon conversion and some custom tunes for your mods.

rich or lean conditions will ruin them. The only way to tell if you caused it or what caused it is to have a shop put it on the dyno and see what it's doing before you start throwing money at it. That is the best way to correct the issue. Would suck to replace the cats and have mail order tunes written then only find that you end up with the same issue afterwords.

High flow cats will be fine, but they may or may not trip a CEL with P0420/P0430.

Correct! I had this issue with the Dynotech Supemaxx set up that Troyer Performance installed on my 05. Even after tunning it would throw codes for both converters. On the advice of both, Dynotech and Mike Troyer I installed anti-foul plugs between both downstream 02 sensors. That fixed the SES light and I was able to get through emissions again. Before installing them I did have the new converters replaced with only 5K miles on them.. only to find both codes came back again. It also caused a rough ideal/running condition within about a minute of a cold start up for a min or two almost every day. That was very frustrating because I kept taking it to the dealer thinking it was from a bad fuel injector. With those codes you can have this type of running condition on start up. What I was told is that the 02 sensors were calling for too much fuel because they were sensing the wrong temperature range at time and were over compensating for it, that they can call for as much as 125% correction iirc
