I have just completed the sparkplug change in my 05 f150 5.4 3v 4x4, 140,000 miles. I just bought the truck 2 months ago and have been preparing for this for awhile. I had the lisle tool, nickle anit-seize, ect on hand anticipating a long day with this many miles on the factory plugs. I was suprised to get all 8 out with no fuss at all. The last 3 fillups I ran seafoam in the fuel tank to try and help with carbon. Pulled it apart hot from driving it, cracked the plugs loose about 1/2 turn and sprayed about 3 seconds worth of seafoam deep creep in the plug bore. Let it sit for about an hour while I pulled the intake and throttle body to clean it and the mas, replace fuel filter etc. Each plug completly loosed up and spun out by hand after 1- 1/2 turns. The deep creep seemed to have liquified all the carbon on the plugs, no deposits at all on them. Installed some new 507's and torqued them down, re-assembled and started up. A good amount of smoke came out the exhaust forabout 10 seconds and the motor was a little rough but then cleared out and is running soo much smoother then before

I just ordered the rest of the stuff I needed for the big change. I got the 515 plugs (double platnium) though. Ordered the Lisle tool, nickle anti-sieze, and spark plug socket from Amazon.com. I have 106,000 miles on my truck now. I bought used at around 67K so no idea if the plugs have been changed. I am preparing as if they haven't. My only obsticle now is that I am working 72 hours a week right now and 250 miles from home up near Green Bay, Wi. Hate to attempt the change and be stuck without a vehicle for work if something were to go wrong. I have been getting a low grade misfire so I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and "get 'er done".
When I first bought my truck about 2 months ago it was misfiring bad under hard accelleration in 1st and 3rd gears, wouldn't want to spin the tires off the line. After running the seafoam through it the misfire was almost completely gone, only had a slight one when pulling my 24ft enclosed trailer trying to pass the slowpokes. I attribute the seafoam to cleaning the carbon out of the plugs, they were very clean on the electrode tips.

I might try runnin some seafoam in my tank before my change too. It seems to me alot on hear have had good luck at doing that procedure.

Congrats on a successful change. I did a write up about this about 6 months ago stating seafoam and break em hot works every time. I've changed my own and customers many times that way and have yet to break a plug. I think 127k is my personal record though so your 140k is very impressive.
Diffinately good to know about the Seafoam deep creep. I saw it at AZ Friday when I picked up 2 cans of Seafoam for the gas tank as I plan on a spark plug change next weekend. Having 85K miles, I figured I would use the the deep creep instead of the pentrating fuild others have been using. Seafoam really eats the varnish deposits right off. I've been using it on the wife Taurus for a coupe of years now.

What are the advantages to the 515's over the 507's? I used the 515's, but only because that's all the dealership had.
