plug situation need idea

Okay I have 6 of 8 plugs done. 1 broke out of the 6 got it out with the lisle tool. The 7th one which is the hardest on the back passenger side has broken but it seems as though it came part of the way out. Now the threads are completely out but the plug is still stuck due to the bottom part still being wedged in the head.

I have pulled until I am sore as can be with 11 inch needle nose pliers. I have even threaded it back down and back out but now I guess I have it out enough that I can't get the threads to catch.

So I am now in a dilemma on how to get this plug out.

I am almost to the point of putting everything back together and try bumping it over and see if I can get the engine to pop/blow it out. Is there anything that I should be seriously worried about by doing this? I mean I am at a loss and getting completely wore out on this guy.

I really don't want to take this to the dealer to get it extracted but I am almost to that point as well.

EDIT: What I think has happened is the lower piece of the plug is still attached to the upper piece while the porcelein is broke. So basically where they normally separate is not separated but the threads are out past the head threads and nothing left to allow them to separate.

I finally got it. Total of 8 hours working and pulling I finally got it out. The thread collar had broken away. New plug is now in.

Good deal! I had read your first post and tried to think of something to tell you to do, and never came up with anything.

If it were me I would have tried spaying something in, and let it soak to help brake up the carbon. Then use a shop vac knocked down to a small hose to suck out the liquid after it's out.

For anyone that runs into the problem where it just spins the thing to do is grab the top of the plug with needle nose pliers and twist it. More than likely the porcelain is already broke or close to it and the electrode is what is holding it in place. I have on plug left to change and I will do that this weekend. I also used a 3/8 air ratchet once I did the initial break lose. Work great on the first 3. This last one I am almost certain was due to the fact I let the engine cool too much. So if I were to do them again I would warm the engine, start from the back and work my way forward. I also used seafoam deep creep and it worked awesome on the front 3 with a warm engine.

I want to thank everyone on here for the guidance with all of the threads and posts. My next adventure will be the cam phasers.

Well I changed my plugs today, the owner prior to me ran into a problem and decided to leave it for the next guy.

I was able to get 7 out of 8 plugs changed with no problems at all. One plug was a problem, the piece that screws into the head came off and left the porcelain and the electrode intact in the head. I had to break the porcelain off and use the removal tool to get it out. Then I noticed that it was a different plug all together, figured he couldnt get it out and just screwed the piece back in.

Runs a lot better now, plus the rear coil on the passenger side was not screwed down all the way.

Well after my plug change with Motorcraft plugs and a new TP sensor my truck actually runs worse. Not sure what it is yet.
