Installed Troyer E Fans

To anyone who is on the fence about this, DO IT

I installed them yesterday and can already see the difference in the amount of gas mileage I am getting with them. I was getting such bad mileage that I would go 40-45 miles and a quarter of a tank would be gone. I have 30 miles on them already and less than an eighth of a tank is gone. I did nothing else to the truck yesterday or before that besides the gotts mod a month ago. When I fill up my tank next, I will bump this thread, but I am still amazed how much better it is.

As far as power, the butt dyno says it helped, and I spun the tires in second gear. I have spun tires through second gear with my steering wheel cut before, but this was going in a straight line. I dont expect everyone to "Ooh" and "Ahh" at that, but with 3.55 gears I think its pretty good.
Tuner got shipped today also, cant wait for that too!

And for anyone who says "Maybe you are driving easier now than before," I have been doing the same style, if not more WOT today.

what size tires and any other mods?

was it wet or cold?

i find it hard to believe you spun in 2nd in a basically stock truck

was it wet or cold? It was dry, cold outside temperature, but I had driven 10 miles already, so my tires were warm.

Trust me, I didn't expect them to spin either

EDIT - It was going up a slight hill also, I dont know if that adds and resistance to forward momentum.

Not exactly what that means......but if you have a LS diff and you are turning you are more apt to spin a tire since the rear is slipping your mainly putting power to one wheel. Howerver, bottom line if your pants say power and your needles shows more gas then it sounds like a winner.

EDIT: I read wrong...I missed the BEFORE. Just for clarification though, do you have LS rear?

No ls in my truck sadly, its an open diff, so only 1 tire was spinning.

Honestly didnt think those e-fans would make that bit of a difference. The only way I can spin my 35s in second w/ stock gears is when I have my programmer turned up all the way, which is supposed to add 36hp an 42TQ , so I wonder how much those e-fans add?

I would love to jump on the dyno as I am really close to JDM, but it just costs too much money

Did mine along with the Troyer Pulleys a few weeks back.....
Got 1.5 mpg better. The truck feels like it has more "reserve" power.

I would not say to get them for MPG purposes, it woudl take you a long time to get your money's worth. I woudl not recommend getting it as a first mod either....SCT tuner is more noticeable.

Was it a worth while mod....YES, for someone who has other bolt ons done.

mine made a big difference too about 1.5mpg increase city 2.0mpg highway and it easier for it to go up. mid to top end I noticed a big difference but my bottom end cause of 3.55s and my heavy 33s didn't really notice a lot of difference on bottom end
soon i will have 4.10s going in

I dont remember the price off the top of my head, but I started a group buy on here so that I didnt have to pay the full price.

Thanks for the info, did go onto their web site and might buy their system but at this moment doing some research towards their controller, seen allot of issues with it. Might just purchase some efans and a different controller but we will see.

Call Troyer and try to purchase just the fans and mount, then get a 'DCcontrols' controller FK50. That is about as good of a set-up you can get. Troyer's fans are fantastic and the "DC" controllers are bulletproof. just my .02

Troyer's fans are Derale Tornado electric fans. But Troyer's brackets pull them together very well.
