Anybody running the 2009 & up 18" FX4 rims on your '04 - '08 truck?

I just got a smokin' deal on a brand new set of 18" FX4 rims and tires off a '10 F150 and was wondering if any of you are running these. I'm buying them regardless as the tires alone are worth what I'm paying for the package, but I'd love to see some pics of these on your trucks

Thanks, I found them on Craigslist late last night and pretty much just got off the phone with the seller. I got an unbelievable deal. He lives about an hour and a half from me and even offered to meet me half way I normally don't find deals like this! One more question though...will the TPMS sensors work with my truck?

I did this about a month ago. Found a 2011 FX4 owner that drove from the dealership straight to the tire shop to replace the OEM's...still had the rubber nips on the tires. Paid $600 for the whole package including the lugs. Heck, discount tire wanted over $950 just for the tires so I think I made out! Totally changed the look of the truck going from 255/65/17's to 275/65/18's. Mine is an '06 and the sensors won't work. Good luck, you'll enjoy them.

The sensors will be valve-stem sensors, not the band-style used on the 04-08's. The frequency is the same however, so it just needs to be reprogrammed.

Cool, thanks. And to re-program them I would need to get a sensor re-set tool like the one's they're selling on ebay for around $30? I'm picking up the rims and tires tomorrow afternoon...can't wait

The TPMS sensors on the 2011 use a different frequency from the 07-08 trucks. You will have to replace the sensors on those 2011 wheels to work on the 07. The re-learn tool will work with either sensor though. http://revolutionsupply.com

If you have an 07 truck, you have the band type sensors. The newer trucks have the stem type sensors. The two types use different frequencies to communicate with the truck. Recently "Revolution Supply" has a replacement stem type sensor for the earlier trucks to eliminate the band/sensor setup, but it transmits at a different frequency than the newer trucks (09+). If you go to the web site listed and look up the two years involved you will see the sensors have different part numbers. I just put new wheels on my 07 and called them to confirm the frequency difference. The re-learn tool you mentioned can be used with both frequency sensors to re-program the truck. Bottom line, you will have to either remove your band type sensors and put them on the new wheels or get the replacement stem type ones for the 07 (about $35.00 ea)

Sorry, I don't think I made it clear. I thought you were putting the band sensors from your old wheels onto the new ones.

Little wrenches on the ends....that's what I always thought they looked like, LOL! I'm leaving now to go get 'em, then I'm going to my buddy's shop to put it up on the lift and change them over. I'll post before and after pics tomorrow....depending on how much snow we get this winter just doesn't want to end.

Yeah, I meant to say mine didn't come with the sensors at all. I'll try and get some pics up, but gotta get it washed first.
