Will new wheels with backspacing...?

Will new wheels with backspacing make your truck sit lower because the tires are out a bit farther or something? I got new rims with a lil backspacing and I'm all but positive my truck, with 2" level, sits a bit lower now. Am I imaging things???

Did you get new tires? Different manufacturers can result in different outer diameters.
...or it can all be in your head!

backspacing doesnt have anything to do with how high your truck sits. Diameter of wheel and tire does.? did the tire size change

No. Already had BFG TA KO 285/70/17's before the wheel swap. The tires DO stick out the side of the wheel well about 1'+ more so I thought maybe with the front suspension combined with the center of the wheel being out more it might be really sitting lower, in the front anyway.
I guess it's all in my head...

If you went from bald tires to new tires, the tread could make it sit maybe 1/2" higher but I don't know how it could sit lower.

Then it should have gone up if anything if the tires were the same size. I think it may be your imagination

how wides your wheel?

for example: if you got a 12" wide wheel and a 12" wide tire it's going to be so stretched out the tire will be shorter.

and even if your tire was an inch smaller than stock some how that would only net .5" drop which would probably not be too noticable.

rim's have no effect on height what so ever unless you choose too wide or narrow of a rim for your tire selection and still then it probably won't be enough to notice.

Interesting 06. I'll have to check on the wheel width.
