Fuel smell in cab

Heres the vitals
06 4.6L XLT just turned over 60,000 miles and plugs havent been changed

So 2 days ago I went on a road trip and on the way home I started to smell a hint of gas but thought it was just some fuel I got on me from filling the truck up 3 times. Now the smell has gotten stronger and is coming through the vents. If I turn on the fan to recirculate the air in the cab it goes away. If checked under the hood and the truck for and signs of fuel. The truck still runs and idles just fine. The only thing I have done differently other than the 3 fill ups in one day was I ran some injector cleaner in the last tank.

If you guys have any ideas that would be great

I personally wouldn't have run injector cleaner through it, for fear of damaging the injectors and having one stick open (thus hydrolocking the engine). All that additive crap tends to be just that ... crap.

my guess is you have a leaky fuel injector. Get it checked out before it sticks completely open and hydrolocks the motor. If it does stick open all the way you will know it as the engine will idle extremely rough and black smoke will pour from your exhaust. If you run it too long with raw fuel going thru the block and exhaust you risk frying your 02 sensors and cats for the bank that has the leaky injector.

If its not an injector you have a bad plug or its not seated properly. Either way you look at it you have fuel going to the engine that is not being burned off in a cylinder thus giving you the raw fuel smell.

I am having the same problem with my 04 F-150. I just changed the plugs. Have 85000 miles on the truck. I am not getting any codes, so how would I check to determine which cylinder is not burning the fuel? I did have the bucking and shaking of the truck twice, 3 days ago with the engine light flashing, but nothing since. No codes were stored.

I usually dont add anything. The injectors have been getting a little louder so I thought Id try some. Read on here some guys use it before plug changes. Ill see if the smell is there on the next tank. Mabey its just the smell of the cleaner

I thought of either one being bad, but the runs great still plus I have an Air/fuel guage in the truck. Mind you its only monitoring one bank. Knowing my luck it would be on the other bank

I been planing on plugs this year so this might be my kick in the butt to get on it I still have warranty on the truck, see if I can get ford to do it
