Gauge cluster backlight went out.

A couple of months ago my back light on my dash went out. The one that is behind the odometer, outside temp, info center on my 04 FX4. Has anyone changed these before? How tough is this going to be to fix? I am interested in doing it myself because I hate to pay anyone to work on my truck. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I did this on my 07 FX4 after the dealer quoted me $110.00 to swap it, they told me it was a 2.5 hour job. I had them order the bulb ($10.00), and I did some research on here. I used this write up on getting the cluster out: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...y-install.html. Only took me like a half hour to do.

That's not the right one for the gauge cluster. That bulb is used in the flow through console for the gear shift. The ones in the back of the gauge cluster are tiny little lights with twist lock bases.

Awesome. Thanks for your help guys. Looks like I can stop by the stealership and order the bulb now that I am no longer too intimidated to rip apart my dash. I will post my results soon.

I haven't looked in the local stores for these (Advance, ect) I replaced mine with led's from V-Leds # 74 led. I know RockAuto has them for $0.43 each, (incandescent type) have to do a part search to find them

The light bulbs for the back of the speedometer/odometer are P/N YL3Z-13B765-CA. They look like:

My hand is in the picture for size comparison.
