Progression of the Whitey Ford.
Progression of the Whitey Ford.
Just wantd to start this thread as I wll soon be gettting my Rancho Quicklift fronts and 9000XL rears in the mail. I will also be going down to order my 18x9XD800 Misfits this afternoon. Figured I will get my pics posted in so that I can start showing the progression of the truck. I have already done Rustoleum Bed Liner on the rear inner fender well, removed the 4x4 stickers and I also did Rustoleum Bed Liner on my factory bed extender. I will post pics up of those changes shortly. Here is a pic of my truck to start with.
Thanks Crstfr. I cannot wait to get them on. My Rancho's will be here tomorrow afternoon according to UPS. I will be installing them tomorrow night and then I will be getting my wheels and tires installed on Thursday afternoon. Here are a couple pictures of the changes I have made so far. You can really see the rake on the truck in the first one, and I am so glad to see that sticker gone and no more white in the rear fender well.

Got my QuickLifts and 9000XL's in this afternoon...I would be extremely excited, but when I got them, I realized that I got the QuickLifts, not the QuickLift Loaded. That being the case, I would have to take the Coil Spring off and the Mount and reuse them and I do not have the tools necessary to do so. I am not comfortable doing the coils on my own so now I am forced to have a shop do them before I can get them on. I would have just sent them back and had 4 Wheel Parts send me the right ones and paid the difference, but they are back-ordered. By the time they got them in, I could have spent the same money and gotten them done at a shop reusing the factory mount and coil. Sorry, just had to rant. I will get them to a shop tomorrow and then I will hopefully get some pictures up as well since my wheels and tires are also supposed to be in tomorrow.
So I was a cheap a$$ this afternoon and I decided to just go to AutoZone and rent a Strut Coil Compressor Set and compress the coils myself. This is the first time I have ever compressed a coil...it sucked! Word of advice for anyone that is planning to get the Rancho Quicklifts for their truck...make sure you get the Quicklift Loaded (RS999909 for the 04-08) and not just the Rancho QuickLift (RS999792 for the 04-08). As I said, it was by mistake that I ordered these as the extra $11 per unit would have been worth it to not have to compress the mammoth springs on our trucks.
That being said, I am happy as hell now that I have it completed. It is late so I will not be able to post any pics until tomorrow, but the ride is great...so much better than factory. I also put on my 18x9 XD800 Misfits and my 285/65R18 BF Goodrich A/T KO's. With the wheels and tires I gained about .75" in the back and with the QuickLifts and wheels and tires I gained about 2.25" in the front. that tells me that I gained 1.5" from the QuickLifts and .75" all the way around from the wheels and tires. I have 40" to the wheel well in the rear now and 39.5" to the wheel well in the front.
I have absolutely no rubbing issues as expected thanks to the feedback from people on here. I love the look and cannot be happier with the ride so far. I will post pictures tomorrow sometime.
Thanks again everyone for the feedback so far, it has helped me greatly.

Finally Some Pics.
Sorry it took so long everyone. I was out of town this weekend and I did not have time to get any pictures up. I would still like to get some more up because it is hard to make out the wheels in some of these. Let me know what you think. Up next...darker tint (Arizona summer approaching), PTM grill surround, black honeycomb grill insert, smoked tails, blacked out heads and niteshading all badges. Still trying to decide what to do with bumpers. Then on to performance mods.
